Shannon + Alvaro // A Coastal Wedding Weekend
Oh man, Shannon and Alvaro’s wedding was one for the books.
In her own words, Shannon described their idea for their wedding days in her initial email, and I was immediately hooked:
Alvaro and I met while attending the University of California San Diego, we were good friends to start and things manifested in the way that brought us very close. We love camping, hiking and exploring beautiful places, notably national parks. I grew up near Big Sur, so it is a place that has always been pretty special to me and it is close to my family. The scenery and magic of Big Sur obviously also plays a large part in our choosing of the ceremony site.
Our vision for our wedding day is a simplicity and joy. That is what we want to feel and what we want to create. We want to embrace what makes our relationship special, and that is overall our ability to bring the best out of each other. We are a perfect balance for each other and are able to give the other person what they are unable to give themselves at that time. When we take life to seriously, we call each other out, and make light of the situation with humor and grace
Alvaro and I are pretty laid back people, who go with the flow. We are simple but do like the thing that improve our quality of life. We want our day to be natural, elegant, candid, timeless, joyful and full of love.
Her words rang true for their wedding, which spanned over two days, first in Big Sur for an intimate ceremony, and last in Monterey to celebrate with their dearest family and friends. It was just what they wanted, and couldn’t have been more beautiful.
