Donna + Marco // A Big Sur Elopement

I'm so excited to share the elopement of this beautiful couple! Donna and Marco reached out to me a few months ago, asking if I would photograph their elopement in the Redwoods in California. Of course I jumped at the opportunity, not only because the Redwoods are on my Bucket List, but because I've been friends with Donna for years and she's a talented photographer herself. I had never met her up until this point, so it was a wonderful chance to get acquainted and be able to capture such a special time in her life. Their love story was so sweet and pure, and I was so excited to document it for them. 

A couple of weeks later, their plans changed slightly, and they decided to move their elopement a bit closer to the coast, and elope to Big Sur instead. I have shot several weddings in Big Sur, so I helped them think of a perfect location, and we all decided on Pfeiffer Beach.

The evening of their elopement came, and through some completely unavoidable circumstances, they arrived just before sunset. We only had a small window of opportunity to shoot within, as the light was quickly fading, but it couldn't have been more perfect for them in the end. The soft, warm evening light seemed to cast a magical spell on the coast around them, and Donna and Marco exchanged their heartfelt vows with the low roar of waves in the distance. Then, we shot until the light was gone.
