Amal + Rahiel // A Colorful Art Museum Wedding
This wedding day is going to stay in my memory forever. Amal and Rahiel are some of the kindest, most genuine, down-to-earth people I have ever met, and their wedding day couldn’t have been more perfectly suited to their love story.
There was so much thought put into the wedding weekend. Amal, being a true feminist icon herself, made sure that almost all of the vendors were female owned and operated, and her eye for art and design ensured the striking quality of every element. Rahiel of course put so much of himself into the planning as well, and as a couple he and Amal incorporated their traditions, family and culture into the rituals, decor, food, and events.
The venue couldn’t have been more perfect for the events too—the modern, stark concrete architecture contrasted so perfectly with the vibrant colors of the Indian attire and florals. I was blown away.
Amal and Rahiel—thank you for creating such a beautiful and unique wedding celebration in Oakland that day. Thank you for giving me the freedom to shoot as creatively as I wanted, never rushing through the day’s events, and treating me and Sophie not only like dear friends, but like family. I’ll never forget this day.
Speaking of which, thank you also to my amazing second shooter Sophie Berard! You absolutely rocked that day. <3 Can’t wait to shoot more with you in the new year.
