A Winter Dream at Sundance

This bridal session was something out of my dreams. I was hired by this sweet bride after the couple had suffered a disaster with their previous photographer, and they were in desperate need of someone to take their engagement and bridal photos. Another talented photographer, Camilla Hancock, covered their engagements, and I was booked for their bridals. I cannot tell you how glad I am that they hired me!

Courtney, the bride, told me she wanted to find a forest in the mountains for her photos. She wanted dark green trees that would maker her gown stand out. It all sounded perfect, and we planned our shoot for a few weeks later. The mountains had been dry up until then, and we expected to find the perfect green forest for her.

That day, as we drove into the mountains, a blizzard suddenly decided to surprise us. As we neared our location, I worried it was going to be a lost cause, that the snow would be too much for us all. I worried about my couple freezing and being miserable in the driving snow. However, Courtney and Zach were not going to let the snow ruin this for them, and they greeted the weather head on. It turned out to be absolutely perfect. The softly falling snowflakes created the most romantic fairytale setting for us, beneath the gigantic trees heavy with fresh powder. We finished off the evening beneath hanging lights at the resort's cabin, dancing and drinking hot chocolate to warm our frozen bones.

Courtney and Zach were such troopers throughout the entire session, and we came away with some beautiful images that I know they will cherish forever. I know I'll always cherish them as well.
